HURST Corporate Finance advise EDM Group on its acquisition of RGF Support
Nigel Barratt and Ryan Niblock of HURST Corporate Finance have advised EDM Group on its acquisition of RGF Support.
EDM, which is based in Newton Heath, Manchester, is a major supplier of world-class training and hardware solutions to the aviation and defence sectors.
It provides simulated training equipment for commercial aviation, and simulators for military and commercial customers.
RGF, which has its headquarters in Redhill, Surrey, is a training and infrastructure support business operating at the UK’s major airports. It provides vital training in the areas of ground handling, airside driving, aircraft fuel tank entry, first aid and health and safety. RGF also provides airport-based medical assessments.
“It has been a pleasure to advise EDM on its acquisition of RGF Support. This transaction will enable EDM to expand into a number of new sectors and grow its customer base. We wish EDM and RGF all the best as they move forward together.”
Tony Bermingham, managing director of EDM Group, said: “We are all excited about working with the RGF management team and continuing the growth that they were achieving pre-pandemic.
“Whilst there is plenty of opportunity to grow the current business, there are also numerous synergies with the EDM training business, and we look forward to exploiting them together.
“The ethos of the RGF management team in terms of exceeding customer expectations and never turning down a challenge aligns perfectly with those of the EDM management team.
“EDM look forward to bringing together global reach and contacts to further the development of RGF and the EDM Group.”
Andy Clements, managing director of RGF Support, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of the EDM Group. From the outset, it was clear that EDM was the perfect fit to continue to grow our business. There are obvious opportunities for us to complement EDM’s work and we are excited to get started.”
Alongside HURST, law firm DWF supported EDM Group on the transaction.
