Role Purpose
To lead and deliver high quality audit and corporation tax compliance services across all phases to the region’s leading SME businesses, to our firm’s market leading standards of quality and insight, and also manage and coach trainee accountants to develop their skills and ensure they receive the support they need.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop robust audit plans through identifying audit risks, performing control assessments and understanding the commercial objectives for each client’s business
- Execute and deliver audit plans within budget and resources through delegation of tasks, management of the audit team and acting as a point of escalation to undertake technical areas on the audit file
- Manage and develop colleagues on site through on job learning and delegation of tasks engaging with individuals to undertake personal development to fulfil their current and future potential and providing constructive feedback/ assignment reports on work conducted
- Draw conclusions, develop reports and make commercial observations from audit findings with recommendations for system and control improvements ensuring files are thoroughly and accurately completed prior to being submitted for Manager and Partner review
- Review work conducted against the following deliverables: accounts, tax computations, letter of representation and board report
- Develop and embed strong client relationships through providing high quality audit work and response service to clients
- Work in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements to deliver high quality and compliant audit assignments
- Undertake appropriate CPD to develop and maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full ACA/ ACCA qualified or relevant equivalent experience (essential)
- Current and demonstrable experience of audit practice and including delivery of high-quality audit assignments (essential)
- Experience of working with clients from a variety of sectors including manufacturing and engineering, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), entrepreneurial and family, lifestyle and leisure and internationally mobile (essential)
- Experience of working with SME and/ or international client base (essential)
- Working experience of Microsoft Excel (including use of pivot tables and Vlookups and SUMIFS) (essential)
- Working experience of data analytics platform (Desirable)
- Demonstrable experience of delivering a high level of customer service with the ability to build strong client relationships (essential)
- Previous experience of managing a team with an emphasis on coaching junior colleagues (essential)
