I get to engage with a wide variety of business leaders on a daily basis and given the opportunity to ask probing questions to not only deliver a high quality audit but also to give insight to support our clients and offer pragmatic advice.

I love my role because...

It is so varied. I work across a number of industries and sectors, each day brings new challenges and new experiences.

My favourite thing about HURST is...

The team. Everyone is so positive and supportive, you do feel like we are in it together. Whether that be within the Business Services team or collaborating across departments, everyone is willing to help and share experiences with a smile on their face. We all truly get along and it shows with the work we produce.

Helen Besant-Roberts

Helen runs a portfolio of clients in a variety of sectors. Her role is to support HURST’s clients in achieving their goals and in meeting their compliance needs. She is also responsible for the training and development of the HURST team.

I love my role because...

It’s so rewarding. I really feel as though I’m making a difference to people’s lives. If I’m able to help just one person each day, then my time has been well spent.

Richard Smethurst

Richard is a Senior Manager in our Business Services team, focusing on the delivery of efficient statutory audits that enable us to inform our clients of ways to improve their business and achieve their goals.

I love my role because...

Of the people I work with - both colleagues and clients. We're dedicated to doing the best possible job for our clients and this has been most evident during the period since the pandemic began in 2020.

My favourite thing about HURST is...

Again - it's all about the people.

Jon Ward

Jon heads up the Accounts Preparation and Outsourcing team at HURST, with responsibility for team management and providing compliance and advisory services to our clients. Jon is also part of the graduate recruitment team.

I love my role because...

I get to help owner-managed businesses achieve their goals and see the individuals in my team develop to help the growth of HURST.

Mike Lewis

Mike manages the preparation of clients’ self-assessment tax returns and the completion of company benefits forms P11D.

I love my role because...

I have the constant challenge of meeting HMRC deadlines. That means I remove the need for clients having to deal with this compliance work, leaving them free to deal with what they do best... running their business.

John Glover

John is a Business Services partner at HURST. Working with a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, he supports people with a range of compliance services, always working to help clients to achieve their strategic plans.

I love my role because...

There is so much variety and I get to work with and for great people (clients and Hursties). No two days are the same which keeps you fresh, motivated and engaged to deliver.
