Lauren received her accolade at a ceremony at Salford’s Lowry Hotel. The award honours the profession’s brightest prospects in business or practice who are showing great promise in their careers. Lauren joined HURST Corporate Finance in 2013 and in her role advises on the sale of owner-managed businesses. She is involved in the entire process, including undertaking research, conducting due diligence, building relationships with all parties and preparing reports.
More than 250 people attended the awards ceremony, which was sponsored by Manchester Metropolitan University, recruitment firm Sellick Partnership and niche lender Together. The keynote speaker was TV presenter, actor and singer Alexander Armstrong. Lauren won the Rising Star Award along with KPMG’s Harriet Parsons.
The judges rewarded Lauren for showing great confidence during HURST Corporate Finance’s biggest deal, in which she led and managed a cross-functional team, ensuring all parties were happy throughout the transaction. She did this while taking her final professional examinations.
The panel also praised Lauren for her self-assurance and technical knowledge. Partner Nigel Barratt, head of HURST Corporate Finance, said: “Lauren plays a key part in the ongoing success of our team and we are delighted that her achievements have been recognised with this prestigious award.”
