Deal Types: Private Equity vs Trade Sales

Making the decision to sell your business can be difficult and knowing which route to take can be unclear. The options open to those considering an exit are many and varied and HURST Corporate Finance are well versed in determining which option is best for the different businesses we work with.

Questions such as “who will buy my business” and “is private equity right for me” are common. The next Corporate Finance workshop we are running will help answer these questions.

The team will offer insight on what trade buyers look for in business versus what private equity firms will look for when investing and we will be joined by a guest speaker from a private equity firm,

The July workshop will delve more deeply into the different exit options and focus on how deals are commonly structured. Although deal structures are often determined by the type of acquirer they can be tailored to meet the business owner’s personal aspirations.

During this workshop, the team will discuss:

  • Strategic trade acquirers
  • Private equity investors
  • Majority and minority investments/acquisitions
  • Deferred payments and earn-out

If you are interested in looking at an exit option but don’t know which route to take, then this workshop will be perfect for you.
